On Saturday, June 20 from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., the Cambridge Arts Festival will be celebrating its 20th year. This annual event provides a creative space for established and emerging artists, musicians and performers to showcase their talents for Cambridge and neighbouring communities. To ensure residents of the Cedar Towers Apartments and Olympia Court Apartments have all the details about the event, our preferred property management company, Williams and McDaniel, has put together some more information for you.
Paintings, drawings, sculptures and photographs are just a few media that are displayed at the festival, which aims to draw attention and exposure to local artists. Every year, artists are encouraged to display their work and participate without charge. Young art lovers can also contribute to the festival and take advantage of creative activities by visiting the outdoor children’s area and indoor Maker Lab. Activities that will be running at the Maker Lab include interactive video art, 3D printers, robot assemblage and countless others. Held at Cambridge City Hall located at 50 Dickson Street, the Arts Festival is a two-minute drive and 10-minute walk from Cedar Towers Apartments and is a four-minute drive and 22-minute walk from Olympia Court Apartments.
While you’re treating your eyes to exceptional works of art, you can also soak in live rock, folk and jazz music performed on the festival’s main stage. During peak kids’ hours, popular children’s acts will be taking the stage.
Thanks to the dedication of volunteers and local businesses, the festival has been running since September 1995 and shows no signs of slowing down. To see pictures of years past, visit their online gallery. It is also worth mentioning that this event is free to the public and all activities for both children and adults are free.
Despite being free, locals and visitors are still encouraged to support the Cambridge Arts Festival by becoming a sponsor, making a donation through PayPal or by mailing cheques to 50 Dickson St. in Cambridge. To celebrate its 20th anniversary, Cambridge Arts Festival is asking for $20.00 donations for the Children’s Area and Maker Lab activities.
