Cedar Towers Apartments (10 George Street South) are about a ten-minute drive from this local picnicking option.

Soper Park

Soper Park (120 Shade Street) is less than a ten-minute walk from Olympia Court Apartments (72 Alison Avenue). This spacious park is 16.5 hectares. Additional amenities include ball diamonds, tennis courts, an outdoor pool and spray pad. To reserve, call 519-740-4681, extension 4214.

Shade’s Mills Conservation Area

Have you explored Shade’s Mills (450 Avenue Road) yet this summer? The park is an especially good pick if you enjoy fishing, swimming or canoeing. To get here, drive ten minutes from Cedar Towers Apartments (10 George Street South).

Summer produce is an easy, healthy choice for any picnic meal, as a side dish or incorporated into your favourite salad, sandwich or dessert. Fill your picnic basket with fresh, locally grown fruits and vegetables from the Cambridge Farmers’ Market (40 Dickson Street). During the summer months, the market is open on Saturdays from 7:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. and on Wednesdays from 8:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. The market is a ten-minute bike ride from Olympia Court Apartments or a four-minute ride from Cedar Towers Apartments.
